Ebook About
The shocking true story of a bizarre kidnapping and the victims' re-victimization by the justice system. In March 2015, Denise Huskins and her boyfriend Aaron Quinn awoke from a sound sleep into a nightmare. Armed men bound and drugged them, then abducted Denise. Warned not to call the police or Denise would be killed. Aaron agonized about what to do. Finally he put his trust in law enforcement and dialed 911. But instead of searching for Denise, the police accused Aaron of her murder. His story, they told him, was just unbelievable. When Denise was released alive, the police turned their fire on her, dubbing her the “real-life ‘Gone Girl’” who had faked her own kidnapping.   In Victim F, Aaron and Denise recount the horrific ordeal that almost cost them everything. Like too many victims of sexual violence, they were dismissed, disbelieved, and dragged through the mud. With no one to rely on except each other, they took on the victim blaming, harassment, misogyny, and abuse of power running rife in the criminal justice system. Their story is, in the end, a love story, but one that sheds necessary light on sexual assault and the abuse by law enforcement that all too frequently compounds crime victims’ suffering.

Book Victim F: From Crime Victims to Suspects to Survivors Review :

If I could give 10 stars I would. I am not an avid reader but read this in 2 days. I literally could not put it down. What a travesty of justice that these two people were tortured not only by the animal (s) who attacked them but also by law enforcement. Every police officer from the top of law enforcement who had anything to do with this case or felt the need to make derrogative statements about Denise should be fired. Anyone reading this book should try to imagine how they would feel if treated the way law enforcement and often times the general public reacted to a member of their family being put through this ordeal. Congratulations Aaron and Denise, I know life will have great things in store for your family. God Bless You.
Never be the victim of a bizarre crime. I've emphasized that online for more than 20 years. In that interrogation room you'll be sitting across from a raging ranting simpleton who is totally overmatched by the real world, where outliers do occur. The reason Matt Mustard and Kenny Park are not infamous and were not immediately fired is that their caliber is par for the course in law enforcement. It's like shooting 400 over par and making the cut in US Open golf. The FBI is no better, as this book details in devastating fashion.Crime scene reconstruction is a total farce. Law enforcement has no idea who was there, how many were there, or what happened. It is glorified guesswork. This case is a perfect example. Otherwise the scene itself would have dictated that Denise and Aaron were being truthful from the outset.I thought 20/20 did an excellent job on this case recently. But it should be thoroughly examined repeatedly on every major network and true crime program. Bizarre crimes will continue to occur. As long as law enforcement faces no consequences and is allowed to hire and promote those raging ranting simpletons, there will be more lives potentially ruined, needing a minor miracle for their version revealed as truthful. Make no mistake, Denise and Aaron would have been charged and convicted if nothing had been uncovered regarding the actual perpetrator. Same with the couple wrongly charged with murder in the Kay Mortensen case, another bizarre crime. The book is well written and an ideal supplement to the televised programs. There was so much more to the story than I realized.
